Hi, I’m Nurse Tiffany.
I have been a RN for 7 years. As a new grad I was so excited to start working as a nurse in the hospital. The hospital hours quickly got me. I have two little girls at home.. and missing school events, Christmas’s and weekends with them really started to get to me. As a mom I only get so much time with them and I felt like I was tired of giving up time with them to work the hospital hours.
So, initially I left and did travel nursing. This lasted for a year before it was too much. I thought being gone for so many weeks then coming home with 1-2 months off would solve my problem. It did not. I missed my girls being gone for so long. I came back home and started working back at the hospital. I quickly become unhappy and right back in the same situation.
I was always looking for another job that I could do on the side that would somehow replace the hospital income. I could never find anything. One day I stumbled upon another nurse who did IV Therapy. This gave me the idea and I went all in. I looked at all the courses that were offered to see which one would best help me to start my business. I took a reputable course that had good reviews but was $3000. I spent 1 month deciding if I wanted to pay that for a course. I thought since it had good reviews it would be the course for me. So, I signed up.
Unfortunately, after taking this class, although it had good information, it still left me with SO many questions. I was frustrated that I paid that amount and it did not provide me with the steps that I needed to start my business. I reached out to some clinics that used to offer IV therapy and a few other clinicians that offered iv therapy in other locations for guidance. No one was willing to help and actually gave discouraging advice. I decided after we started up I wanted to be THE resource for other nurses who want to start their own businesses. I put together everything I learned in the start up process that you would need to know and that I wish I would have known that would have saved me literally hundreds of dollars.
